I’ve always had a passion for storytelling and its impact. That passion has driven a career in digital media at CBS and then in content marketing for high-growth companies like Justworks.

CBS, 2010 - 2015

As a digital lifestyle editor, I supported CBS’ 24 local markets and their lifestyle sections. The experience instilled a deep appreciation for process and its role in creating content. I learned how to:

  • Manage editorial processes at scale by overseeing the publication of 100+ articles each week.

  • Create content that achieves a measurable goal. Our audience grew 78% year-over-year after shifting the editorial focus towards search-optimized and shareable content.

  • Write and edit content for the web. Script writing, producing videos, writing articles… I honed my creation skills by doing it all.

BUILDING OUT CONTENT MARKETING

Justworks, 2015 - 2017

At 30 employees, Justworks was just getting into the marketing game. I joined Justworks for the chance of a lifetime: To build its content marketing from the ground up. I learned how to:

  • Hone Justworks’ voice by developing Justworks’ voice and tone and applying it across Justworks’ marketing channels.

  • Set a content strategy that empowers small business owners and earns their trust with with approachable, helpful resources.

  • Build editorial process and a small team that would create 200+ articles, eBooks, videos, infographics, emails, and case studies annually.

  • Grow an audience through SEO and social media strategies that grew readership by 300%.

  • Drive quality leads through email and sales enablement strategies that connected readers with sales, making content Justworks’ largest inbound channel.
